Hi Stewart:

Thanks for the explanation. It is anyway good news to know that Maptitude runs over Vista, even though with some issues. I have heard that the other does not run at all. It is also good news what you mentioned about the new capabilities of Maptitude 5.0, specially multi-column legends, undo/redo (graphic as well?), copy/paste cells, images, etc. So going back to a very old wish list (times of Marjorie Roswell), I would like to know if there will be the possibility to select other languages different from english, or edit (that would be better) the units words of the scale inside the Legend.

Best regards,

Reinaldo

Hi Group:

Maptitude 5.0 contains a large number of new and improved features; some of the most significant include an updated user interface and visual style (including dockable toolbars), network bands and partitioning tools, improved image support (including an image librarian layer and JPEG 2000 images), native support for formats such as Excel and ESRI Personal Geodatabases, multi-column legends, data undo/redo, copy/paste cells, accelerator keys (e.g. Ctrl-S saves), an improved Map my Own Data Wizard, and completely restyled default maps.

Stewart

Subject: Re: [Maptitude] Windows Vista

Hi Group:

Due to the release of Maptitude 4.8 well before the release of Vista there
are a few minor compatibility issues. The primary of these is that the
Windows Help program does not ship as a component of the Windows Vista
operating system. The WinHlp32.exe download from Microsoft at <
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148 > is our current recommended
solution to this problem.

Consequently, Maptitude 4.8 is recommended for use with Windows 2000 or XP.

The next release of Maptitude will be version 5.0. This will be Vista
compliant. While there is no firm release date, Maptitude 5.0 is planned to
be shipping over the upcoming months.

Regards

Stewart

If I recall, there appeared more than enough interest that Microsoft seemed
compelled to include support for .hlp files.  The exe is downloadable from
here.  Hope this helps.
