Rob,

There is a function called "null to zero" which will do the job. It
doesn't appear in the function list of the formula builder, but you
can still access it via the GUI.

Say you had a variable "foo" that you wanted to fix:

1. Right click on foo (or select edit... fill from the menu)
2. Type "NullToZero(foo)" into the formula box.
3. Click OK.

P.S. To save a few keystrokes, you can also use NZ(foo).

P.P.S. Caliper had a "Zero to Null" macro up on the support website.
It probably wouldn't be hard to modify it to go the other way if you
have a lot of fields to fix.
