Open the dataview for state or other polygon layer and create a new column labeling it total-length-hwys for the polygon layer;.
Select the column & right-click; You'll see the 'Fill' function (alternatively, you can use 'EDIT-->FILL' from the menu bar if you wish); Choose the 'Aggregate' radio button (this allows you to aggregate data from other layers (a cool function in Maptitude and very rare in other GIS software); Choose the highway or other linear layer you want to aggregate Leave the band size to zero but use the 'FILL WITH' drop box with 'TOTAL' and use the "length" field or whatever name filed you wish to aggregate; Click OK twice; The new column you created is now filled with the sum of highway miles. Good luck. Rudy Banerjee, PhD Maptitude 5.0 On Fri, Jan 21, 2011 at 2:57 PM, feleki <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Hi everyone > > Does anyone know how to intersect polygones with lines?
