Hey, Tim,

Funny you should mention this as I was trying to do the same thing yesterday!

I checked in with folks on the NICAR listserv and got the following response:

The ACS Pumas are linked in a single file on the bottom of the Ipums geo
>> > tools:  http://usa.ipums.org/usa/volii/2000pumas.shtml

I went there and the link worked.

I also checked with the folks from the Census and learned that the the release
date for 2010 Cesnus PUMAs has not yet been determined. They also said we can
used state-based 2000 PUMA shapefiles.

To me, this means you should be all right with the 2000 file.

Good luck, and please keep me posted.

Jeff

Subject: [Maptitude] Merging all 2010 Census TIGER/Line Shapefiles into 1
shapefile.

Merging all 2010 Census TIGER/Line Shapefiles into 1 shape file.

I've been attempting to merge all of the 2010 Census TIGER/Line Shapefiles into
1 shape file.

I'm not having much success so far and was curious if anyone else has tried
this.

I can import them one at a time with no problem, however, after I have all of
the Shapefiles combined into one, it gets to about 30% on the import and then
my
PC runs out of memory and it causes Maptitude to crash.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
