Thank you for the info. Downloaded shapefiles from the Census; opened it in Maptitude; tagged the BG data to my data...mission accomplished!

Caliper sells these data as an add-on product (see http://www.caliper.com/DataCDs/2010BlockGroups.htm) If you just need the polygon layer, you can download TIGER shapefiles for your area for free from the Census Bureau; Maptitude opens (and if desired, converts) them just fine.
