Hello, Everyone! I am new here and in open source too. I got to know about MariaDB through GSoC. I have intermediate level of knowledge in sql and have experience working in languages such as c, c++ and java.
I did go through the list of tasks mentioned in the mariaDB GSoC 2020, and I was in particularly interested in the tasks listed under MariaDB Server: Optimizer. In that 1) Add FULL OUTER JOIN to MariaDB 2) Recursive CTE support for UPDATE (and DELETE) statements. As I understand the functioning of both of these constructs to some extent, I believe that I would be able to follow the control flow. I would really love to contribute to the code base and be of help but I just don't know where to start from.
