I have pushed the new CONNECT version today. It does what is described below

Unfortunately, even I can do it, you cannot do anything about it but wait
for future versions of CONNECT.
OK, thanks. I think we need to document that it's not supported for
XML. I'll do that. But I do think it would be very useful to read XML
files with the same schema combining them all in queries through
CONNECT.

I have implemented Multiple for XML files. It will be added in the next
version.
