I agree with Allan Odgaard on this:

syntax of markdown was redefined.

Small businesses around me have used markdown (and Michel Fortin's Markdown extra) for years for web edition, and changing this old behaviour is bound to break many pages.

Nice seeing the list is alive anyway.
