TOP STORY - UnitedGlobalCom reported that first quarter revenue was 
$798 million, an increase of 46 percent when compared to the same 
period in 2004. The company's net loss was $3 million, an improvement 
over a net loss of $150 million recorded for first quarter 2004.

New numbers from Leichtman Research Group found that the nation's 
top DSL providers added a record 1.38 million subscribers during the 
first quarter, representing 54 percent of net broadband additions for the 
quarter versus cable, which added 1.19 million subscribers --- Today, 
Microsoft launched Windows Mobile 5.0, which the company said offers 
more platform flexibility to customize devices and solutions and delivers 
a bigger multimedia experience --- Credit Suisse First Boston upgraded 
Mediacom from "underperform" to "neutral."

In this week's "Outside" column in The BRIDGE, incorrect numbers were 
reported for Mediacom. The cable operator reported that it added 3,000 
basic cable subscribers during the first quarter, taking its total to 1.461 
million. The company also grew its digital cable business, adding 34,000 
digital customers for a total of 430,000. And broadband customers grew 
by 40,000 to 407,000.
