John McCain (R-Ariz.) that would have ended analog TV broadcasting on April 7, 2008, instead of April 7, 2009, as proposed in draft legislation from the Senate Commerce Committee --- Comcast said it added 307,000 digital customers during the third quarter, for a total of more than 9.4 million. Basic subscribers remained unchanged at 21.4 million. The nation's largest cable company also ended the three-month period with more than 8.1 million high-speed Internet subscribers --- CBS said it's acquiring CSTV Networks, the basic network covering college athletics, for $325 million.
