NASCAR announced an eight-year, $4.48 billion TV rights deal that will
split its schedule among four networks beginning in 2007. The coverage
will be divided between FOX, ABC/ESPN and TNT, and the annual all-
star race will be aired on Speed Channel --- Wade Davis was appointed
senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions for the new Viacom,
following the separation of the media giant into two publicly traded
companies --- Janco Partners initiated coverage of Sirius with
an "accumulate" rating.

Doug Shapiro of Banc of America Securities on news that America
Online could abandon partner Google and use Microsoft's MSN search
engine. "The value in the deal will in large part depend on the terms ...
What will be the relative equity stakes? Will any money change
hands? ... which are anybody's guess at this point. However, our
reaction is that such a deal would probably be a fundamental positive
long term but could reduce revenue growth near-term and won’t be the
near-term catalyst that a more comprehensive deal could have been."
