Street. Credit Suisse First Boston downgraded Microsoft
from "outperform" to "neutral." Lehman Brothers initiated coverage of
the new CBS with an "overweight" rating, while giving Clear Channel
an "equal-weight" nod and Univision an "over-weight" rating.

It's official: Verizon closed its $8.5 billion purchase of MCI today.
Following the merger, the larger Verizon has about $90 billion in annual
total consolidated operating revenues and 250,000 employees serving
customers in 150 countries --- At CES, LG Electronics, Comcast and
Nagravision jointly demonstrated advanced downloadable conditional
access system (DCAS) module technology --- Daystar Television
Network said it donated $100,000 to employees of Cox Cable in New
Orleans who were victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Weekend TV Highlights

Post Season football is here! ABC will start coverage of Wild Card
weekend on Saturday with the Redskins/Bucs game at 4:30 p.m. and
the Jaguars/Patriots match at 8 p.m. On Sunday, Fox will cover the
Panthers/Giants at 1 p.m. and CBS will carry the game between the
Bengals and Steelers at 4:30 (all times Eastern) --- "Million Dollar
Baby," starring Clint Eastwood, on HBO at 8:30 p.m. Eastern --- "Egypt
Untold - The Curse of King Tut," tonight on Discovery Channel, at 9
p.m. Eastern.
