TOP STORY - Microsoft says that this Friday, a new virus may plague
computers everywhere. According to the software company, the worm
has the ability to re–launch on the third of every month and can corrupt
documents using common file types including ".doc," ".pdf," and ".zip."
The worm can also try to disable out–of–date anti virus software,
Microsoft says.

Tom Watts of SG Cowen on the future of satellite TV companies DirecTV
and EchoStar: "We view fourth quarter as the lull before an industry-re-
defining 2006. With $18 billion in cash and debt capacity available, we
expect both DirecTV and DISH to make important announcements in
the coming months regarding stock buybacks and broadband. We
expect continued slowing of net adds, and believe both company’s
strong near-term free cash flow potentials may be be at risk."
