France's lower house of parliament passed a law making Apple open its 
iTunes store to portable music players other than its own iPods --- 
Starwave Mobile announced a mobile licensing agreement to publish 
localized versions of Hong Kong-based Artificial Life's 3G games in the 
U.S., Canada and the U.K. --- Qwest announced new Qwest Home and 
Office networking solutions for residential and small-business 
customers --- Microsoft said it will increase the availability of its Xbox 
360 video-game consoles by "two to three times" this week to address 
shortages that have hindered sales across the industry --- Disney said 
about 30 of the 168 employees of Circle 7, the animation unit it created 
to crank out sequels to hit films it made with Pixar Animation Studios, 
have been laid off and others have been reassigned to other animated 
features.

Rabbi Mark S. Golub was named president and CEO of Shalom TV, the 
nation's first Jewish cable channel slated to premiere this summer ---  
Andy Paff, president and CEO of Cedar Point Communications, was 
honored last week as co-winner of the CEO of the Year Award by the 
Massachusetts Network Communications Council --- Gemstar-TV Guide 
International announced the promotion of Tonia O'Connor to executive 
vice president, distribution --- Federal Communications Commissioner 
Michael J. Copps announced that Jessica Rosenworcel will replace 
Jordan Goldstein as senior legal advisor and Bruce Liang Gottlieb will be 
join his staff as legal advisor --- Rogers Communications announced 
that CFO Alan Horn was appointed chairman of the board and will be 
replaced as CFO by Bill Linton, current executive VP. Rogers' board of 
directors also announced Peter Godsoe will become the board's lead 
director.

AT&T to Seek Business Broadband Deregulation
---------------------------------------------------------------------
TOP STORY -- AT&T said it will quickly follow the lead of rival Verizon 
Communications in asking the U.S. Federal Communications 
Commission to lift regulations on its broadband data services for 
business clients. A divided FCC exempted Verizon from scores of 
regulations for business customers yesterday, including requirements 
that it connect to other networks, negotiate deals with competitors, and 
pay into the Universal Service Fund. CEO Ed Whitacre said AT&T, the 
largest U.S. telecommunications company, would seek similar relief.
