TOP STORY -- Morgan Stanley Investment Management withheld its
votes for directors at The New York Times Co.'s annual meeting today in
protest of the company's dual-class share structure. The investment
firm, which owns about 5.6 percent of the Times' stock, said it was
calling for the elimination of the two-class structure because it "creates
special privileges as well as responsibilities" and the Times has "failed to
fulfill these responsibilities effectively."
