Ok, I'll be interested in seeing how this works out.

If the experiences you guys have with doing this in practice are good
I will then implement a simple WebDAV handler into Midgard that will
abstract away the whole XML import/export thing so you can work
directly with the PO files.

So, please keep me up-to-date on how the i18n efforts on gnome.org
work using this process when you get to that stage. I think the
approach is an interesting one even if I believe it to be slightly too
difficult with real-life web content.
