Cool! Good idea, well executed. We need to see the design details in a real page, or at least a real mockup considering the whole page. We might see better then how the aqua effect plays in that context and we probably will realize that we donçt need yet another GNOME foot (we have 2 in the header, a third one is shown in the footer altough I'll attack that one).
PS: "AJAX"; I think it't the first time this acronym is mentioned in our very long planning process...
