That the list is public, or that it's sometimes frowned upon to forward private email to a public list? It should be clear that marketing@ is public when people subscribe to the list, as there's nothing to indicate that it's private - and it's an Apache list, so the default should be public. Not forwarding private mail is really more of a guideline than a rule. If I'm a reporter and I send a note to someone I assume to be a source or helping to connect me with a source, I assume that's a private communication. Seeing an email that may contain specific questions for a person turn up in a public archive may not be what I had in mind. (That is if it's a surprise, obviously it's OK if the person has said it's OK to forward and/or was aware that would happen from the outset.)
