Kelly , I was thinking exactly the same I'm happy to spend some time thinking about how best to put something like this together

What about a jointly published case study with CS/CP customers/users who are willing to share. Since it involves good press for both companies such a thing is mutually beneficial. -----Original Message----- From: Mathias Mullins [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2013 9:13 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Cc: Peder Ulander Subject: Re: CloudPlatform/CloudStack Customers and Marketing Ilya, I think to take that one step further, we do have an official "public" list of customers that have signed off on letting us use their name in marketing, presentations, etcŠ What we probably need to find out is how far can we take that with ACS. Can those names be published at an ACS level as well since the official title of CCP is CloudPlatform powered by Apache CloudStack. I'm copying in Peder Ulander in here to see if maybe he can help with some clarification. If that list can be brought to bear for the good of both Citrix customers using Apache CloudStack technology then maybe there is a win-win without showing any favoritism, more of a use case. Mark / Karen - I know you are both active on this list, if you have any advice that would be helpful too. As an account rep @ Citrix developing CloudPlatform for the NE US (PA -> DE -> ME), I will do everything I can to ensure we can publish customer names with their consent. However, there's a number of enterprises that will never allow this to occur. It's just they way their legal departments work.. While it may be frustrating at times, the fact remains that Apache CloudStack, and commercial variants like Citrix CloudPlatform, is user driven rather than a marketing focus like other options in the market. I can share that there's 150+ paying CloudPlatform customer. In 2011, around 80% of new customers were Service Providers. In 2012, this number was evenly split between SPs & enterprises. The enterprise number & ratio will grow this year especially in mature markets. This is not only because the SP market is saturated but also because enterprises are investing more in building private clouds. In developing markets, SPs building clouds are mostly focused on either a CloudStack or OpenStack based solution. Getting back to customers - as you could imagine, we have a slide that lists ~ 30 customers we can talk about but I would prefer to defer to some colleagues inside Citrix to bless the publishing of these names. A slide presented to a prospect is very different than publicly posting :) Best, Kelly On 5/18/13 3:59 PM, "Joe Brockmeier" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: On Fri, May 17, 2013, at 03:06 PM, Musayev, Ilya wrote: What is the take on publishing names of CCP customers? I continuously learning about more CloudStack/CloudPlatform customers that are huge in size - but it hurts our marketing strategy as names don't get published. Perhaps I can start un-official CS/CP customer list on personal blogs based on public information (like job descriptions posted online). Thoughts? So, unless a company has specifically signed-off on having their name published, I think it's probably not a good idea to put it out there without their blessing. That can have a backlash. Having a "NASCAR" page of organizations that do use and are willing to talk about their use of CloudStack would be a good thing. I just don't want to incur any ill-will on the part of users who don't want to be public, for whatever reason.
