Hi Lynnette and Sally,
I have hoped, that others answer first to the press release draft and to the
question about possible appointments with reporters. As I have stated before, I
don't feel ready to give an interview because we do not have consolidated info
about what we will answer about CouchDB 2.0. Or I should better say, I am not
ready.

Sorry that this sounds a bit like a blocker from my side but I am not willing
to give interviews with the fear that there are to many questions I am not able
to answer.

Thanks so much to both of you for all your efforts. I think we need a bit more
time here.

All the best

Andy

Thanks Sally,

I haven't heard back from Andy, Lena, Noah or Jan, regarding their
availability, so nothing is booked yet. I'll wait to send the release until
something is confirmed, so we do have a bit more time in case feedback comes
through (of course, either way, I'll reiterate to the InfoWorld team that the
release is still in rough draft form).

Once we have a time nailed down, I'll let you know. If you're available and
interested, please feel free (but not obligated) to join.

I'll keep you posted!

Best,

Lynnette

Hello, Lynette, et al.

Just arrived to find my connectivity is out in the office due to construction
next door, so I'll keep it short.

No further feedback received from the PMC regarding the press release, so if we
must forward the draft to the InfoWorld team, please do so underscoring that
this is a _rough draft_ that is likely to undergo additional revisions between
our briefing them and going live on Monday.

Having said that, is the briefing confirmed? If so, who will be on the call?
(not imposing myself on anyone, more of a curiosity).

Thanks again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for the background information, Lynette.

No worries. I head marketing & publicity for the ASF and am usually not
involved with project-specific activities unless it involves a major milestone.

So there's nothing out of alignment here. We certainly appreciate your efforts!

Ah, I didn't realize! Sorry, Sally.

For some brief background, we pitched reporters that Cloudant has existing
relationships with (namely, reporters we pitched for our own Cloudant Local
announcement) in order to pre-brief them so their stories could be published
ASAP after the CouchDB 2.0 announcement at ApacheCon.

I ran the pitch draft by the community (on the marketing@ list) and received
feedback and answered Andy's questions.

Again, apologies for not including you in the initial emails.

Thanks,

Lynnette

Hi Sally,

Sorry for any confusion! I had brought up the plan to pitch (and shared the
pitch) on a marketing@ thread.

I certainly won't share anything until I hear back from you. The folks from
InfoWorld who expressed interest were Serder Yegulalp and Doug Dinely.

Thanks,

Lynnette

I had no idea we were pitching under embargo. Whom are we speaking with --is it
Paul Krill?

Hey folks,

Just received our first pitch response from the reporters at InfoWorld.

Can you provide me your availability (and time zones) for tomorrow? Since this
interview will be spanning 3 times zones, I'll do my best to schedule the time
that works for the majority.

@Sally — Is the release is any shape to be shared. Of course, it will be under
embargo and I'll reiterate that it's still a draft.

Thanks,

Lynnette

Hi there- I'd be interested in nailing down a time to talk in the next couple
of days. Is anything free on Friday? I'm on the East Coast, but Doug is in San
Francisco, so we'd need to coordinate an appropriate time. (Also, in the
interim, is it possible to see an embargoed release for CouchDB 2.0?)

Hi Eric, Doug and Serder,

Hope all is well! I was recently in touch about Cloudant Local, a new
on-premises DBaaS solution from IBM Cloudant. Now, I’d like to introduce you to
Noah Slater, Lena Reinhard, and Andy Wenk, our friends at the Apache CouchDB™
project.

On November 17 at ApacheCon Europe, the CouchDB community will announce a
developer preview release of CouchDB 2.0. The beta software adds improved
database server clustering to the open source NoSQL database, making it easier
to replicate data across different infrastructure and synchronize changes to
multiple copies of that data at large scale.

As Cloudant has grown as a company, so has our commitment to Apache CouchDB
[1], [2], [3]. Now, as part of IBM, we plan to grow that commitment further
[4], as CouchDB-style database replication becomes a key piece of IBM’s cloud
data management strategy [5].

Lena, Andy, and Noah would be happy to speak with you or introduce you to
additional members of the CouchDB community, including VP of Apache CouchDB Jan
Lehnardt. Please let us know if you’d like to find a time to connect with Jan
and the CouchDB community.

Thanks,

Lynnette
