Thanks for your thoughts. With my own graphics, I usually like to produce one or more versions with an outer glow... generally white, but it might be interesting to experiment using the project's chosen pallet. I'll try this out in a few days time, and will perhaps post something on the wiki for you guys' consideration if the results look any good to me.
