Hi :) It is better to give people links rather than just criticise so i went to our wiki page because i know a couple of people have designed Cd/Dvd labels.
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Main_Page The most relevant page appears to be "Marketing" because we have no pages for Sales, or Design. It would make sense to have labels and stuff in "Marketing" right? He has produced something that looks great even if it is not exactly what other people would have done. Other people could add theirs until we have a selection to choose from or vote on or use for inspiration to develop from.
