Hi :) I saw Fabien run into this problem too = 10hours work for something he should have been able to just grab from the wiki-website in less than 10mins! In the absence of anything easy to reach on the wiki and the fast pace of development we can't all always stay completely informed or up-to-date about all aspects.
As a first step i think we need to get the selection of cd/dvd labels and logos up on the wiki website within easy reach of everyone. Then the appropriate teams can work at making sure the selection gets sifted or tweaked into compliance and that the rules/guidelines are there for people to read easily. Regards from Tom :) ________________________________ From: Dave Johnson <davefilms...@gmail.com> To: marketing@libreoffice.org Sent: Mon, 31 January, 2011 13:47:28 Subject: Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Re: [libreoffice-marketing] DVD label FYI I used the early 'official' logos that are provided on the wiki. I am getting tired of the rude objections toi juste about everything It do. It is the viger font! This case is quite special because Dave mimics the original logo by putting together the single parts of the logo (symbol and text), whiole using them alone is allowed following the Guidelines. What needs consideration is: - Don't reduce the white space area around the logo to less than 1/2 the width of the symbol. The "SM" sign is just 1/4 of the symbol's width away from the LibreOffice text. When the right distances are respected, the impression of a modified logo will be reduced, as the distance allows a clear distiction between our logo and the surroundings. - Don't modify the logo colors. The lower border of the symbol is covered by some kind of grey painting - perhaps this derives from removing the gradient in front of the logo. Either use the contemporary logo if you want to show gradients or use the default logo, if the symbol sould stay black. > > Also see the Trademark Policy > http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TradeMark_Policy Following our latest discussions with Dave, I'm quite sure he is informed about it - especially with regards to the differentiation between external reference to the product and community on the one hand and representation as TDF / community spokespeople / official provider of resources on the other. Very soon there will be a modified logo to be used for external reference - probably based on this draft: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:Non-TDF_logos.png So please stay tuned... Best regards Bernhard PS: Personally I don't think that the colors of the blue gradient fit very well with the LibO green, but this is nothing we need to discuss here... -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to marketing+h...@libreoffice.org<marketing%2bh...@libreoffice.org> List archive: http://list... -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to marketing+h...@libreoffice.org List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/marketing/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity *** -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to marketing+h...@libreoffice.org List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/marketing/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity ***
