This seems to give the view that the .doc and .pdf files have established the norm, when we should be pushing for support for conventions. OpenDocument Format (ODF) support is crucial to our distro. We should try to get support for the ODF formats from as many places as possible. It will only help us. You can always remove these preferences if you like. Unfortunately, I don't believe that Thunderbird (Mozilla) would want to remove the .doc and .pdf formats from the default install, so we may as well push for ODF as well. Cheers Marc Hi :) I think if you find one of those documents that opens in FireFox and right-click, choose "Properties" then you can set the default program as LibreOffice. Hopefully there is only 1 sub-set of OpenDocuments that have this problem on your machine but if you find other documents opening in FireFox then you might have to repeat this 2 or 3 more times to catch them all. LibreOffice is not a distro it is a suite. Usually OpenSource projects of anything like this size are distros and the unusual way TDF formed is more usual amongst distros so it is easy to make the mistake. It is difficult to think of a generic term that would cover Gimp, Firefox, Mozilla, the distros, small libraries, large organisations but i guess "project" is about the most generic?
