+1 Not because i don't like or don't trust them but just because it would be a bottle-neck and be more demanding than rewarding for them. They are an excellent resource and people would be wise to make use of their skills and talents. However, it's not always going to be possible for people to act wisely fast enough. I would also expect it to continue generating guidelines, recommendations or published best practices if you will. I would not be in favor it acting as a mandated certification body.
