The ITR forms that are talked about, do not work properly on Libreoffice Calc (specifically, the macros they contain do not work properly). I used it, and faced a lot of trouble. For online, e-filing, of income tax returns in India, the best options remain to fill .pdf versions of forms using adobe acrobat or microsoft excel for the .xls version. this is valid for 2009, 2010 and 2011 filings. Other wise, off-line paper form filing costs about 2 euros.
