Tom, It's a small, very participatory conference (less than 50 people), so one does not just "show up and look around". At last year's conference, I gave a presentation about the LO Docs project and team, because the other participants wanted to learn what we were doing, but that is not required. I learned a lot from the others, including how they dealt with their communities of users and contributors, as well as what tools and procedures they used.
