Hi :) I think it is fairly urgent that we remove any reference to Base having an internal back-end at all. At least until after the one that is currently used has been replaced and that is likely to take several months "Our current Base database back-end is HSQLDB - but this causes severe performance problems primarily around the frequency of Java to C++ transitions." "currently when creating an embedded database we default to the Java-based HSQLDB database engine. That is somewhat unfortunate." HsqlDB itself is not the problem. It's our implementation of the ancient out-dated version. That is compounded by fairly serious problems with having any Java apps on a computer these. Anyone's loss of data is TDF's fault as thing stand.
Please can we only talk about external back-ends and avoid mention of internal ones until the current situation is resolved?
