You can separate the file name and read character by character from right, as in Basic as follows: i = 0 do i = i + 1 tmp = Right (<filename>, i) loop while IsNumic(tmp) = True If LEN (Right (<filename>, i-1))> = 1 Then '-->here is a file name, with number at the end, found end if But I think this is a typical task for a macro automation not for a change of AOO itself.
