The lesson outline looks good, would not take much to update for 3.2 or
3.3. The problem is that would good would their certificate do someone
in the US, I have no idea how it may work for you.

The certification would not mean too much in N. America, not sure for
US, but in Canada, the responsibility of education falls under the
jurisdiction of the provinces (and territories). I imagine it would mean
something if you were to get some kind of ISO certification if it could
apply here, but there is no section for ISO software (not at least that
I know) that exist at all.
You could make arrangements for the creation of a
certification/accreditation programme from a University. That could
easily be arranged as an e-course, but the costs would definitely be
LARGE as compared to those quoted on the Ingots site.
Another option would be a TDF-run certification programme very much like
that of RedHat
(https://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/Red_Hat_Training_Catalog.pdf). This is
what I would favour. It could be run as a "for-profit" endeavour run
under either the documentfoundation.ca or documentfoundation.us banner.
This would eliminate any problems with associated with the
not-for-profit documentfoundation.org. Putting up a Moodle LCMS site of
our own as member of the TDF/LibO membership would not be beyond our
expertise nor our membership capabilities. We have the membership and we
have the experts. TDF/Certification
Running a certification programme always helps in defining and promoting
the legitimacy of a company's software/hardware product confidence.
