Hi guys, is there anyone able to help? -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Speak at Flourish Conference 2011, Chicago, April 1st - 3rd Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2011 22:24:37 -0600 From: Joel Luellwitz <[email protected]> To: [email protected]
Greetings, I am a fan of the Document Foundation and Libre Office and would like to invite someone from your Foundation to speak at a conference I am helping run. Flourish 2011 is Chicago’s annual conference dedicated to open source, sponsored by the University of Illinois at Chicago Linux Users Group (UIC-LUG) and the University of Illinois at Chicago Association for Computing Machinery (UIC-ACM). The conference will be held at the University of Illinois at Chicago on April 1st through April 3rd. The Flourish Conference is in its fifth year and has previously has previously hosted speakers from big names like Google, IBM, Microsoft and even Sun (OpenOffice.org). More information about Flourish 2011 can be found at http://www.flourishconf.com/. Our attendees would love to hear about The Document Foundation's reasons for forking OpenOffice.org and how forking OpenOffice.org changes the project's direction and features. While The Document Foundation is based in Germany, I suspect your have representatives (or key developers) close to Chicago who would be willing to speak at our conference. However, in case you do not have a representative in our area and if travel costs are an issue, please let us know as I am certain we can work something out. Please let me know whether or not you can send a representative from The Document Foundation to speak at Flourish 2011. If you have any questions about Flourish 2011, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
