I have used P2P before, but never offered such a large file for
uploading. I have set my desktop's P2P upload bandwidth very small so
it would be a long time for such an upload to happen.
My upload bandwidth [set by RoadRunner cable modem access service] is
set for the maximum of 120 KB/s At that rate, it takes over 7 hours to
upload a full DVD ISO file. So whoever will be willing to have their
computer used for the initial P2P transfers, need to have a much better
upload bandwidth rating.
For some people, they will not "touch" P2P versions of anything. So we
need someone to be a central host for the ISO file. Also, downloading
from a central host could be faster than P2P to many users. I am in
favor of a Central Host for the ISO, P2P distribution, and someone
"selling" the pre-burned media. As many distribution options we have,
more ways we can get it into the hands of people.
Drew gave out versions at SCALE. We can see want can be done to give
out our N.A. disc at other English speaking events in the US and Canada.
