Howdy,
well, no link to the projects ML yet, but maybe later today.
SO for this mornings stand up meeting:
One quick question:
Shall we layout the structure on the CMS development platform so as to
create a single .iso file with all the files needed to support all three
languages (html files/artwork/add-ons) or in such a way as to be able to
generate three .iso files, once each for each langauge?
I have, quietly, been working on my copy of SilverStripe and exploring
ways to approach this - my preference at this point would be to generate
one .iso file with everything included for the three languages.
How do others feel on this?
Thanks
Drew
If I understand what your asking correctly.... A single .iso would make sense
with the install-multi and install-all lang. packages. If there is
room for all the
different language files... docs, templates ... ( I think Tim@ said there was
room for all in a earlier email.)
1 iso. to distribute, 1 .iso to maintain.
Thanks for all your work.
We have enough room for some more stuff than than what is on the
Windows/Linux/MacOSX DVD, but not much.
If we have English/French/Spanish HTML files and related files in these
three languages, we may have to reduce some of the extra software
packages. There is a lot of space taken up by English version of
templates, documentation, and extra software. If we need to have all
three languages for all the related files, if we can find them, it will
be too large to fit without some reduction somewhere.
If we decide to put out a Windows-Only DVD, then we would have plenty of
space. The Win/Linux/Mac is currently about 3.7 GB, while the Win-only
is about 1.6 GB in size.
The extra software folder is about 418 MB in size for English.
Documentation folder is 297 MB in size.
Then add any Templates and Extensions that are found for French and
Spanish, over top of the English language versions. . . . .
You get the picture.
