Would be nice if laptop stickers were also sold. I'd love to put a
LibreOffice sticker on my laptop as well as have a few to hand out to
others.
Thanks for the feedback - I will order some stickers.
Regarding the sale of CDs, I see that we must choose which
desktop/architecture we want. Wouldn't it be better served (and less
work for you) if we created a DVD with all of the above?
I saw the DVD found at:
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/box/3.4.4/libo3.4.4-NA-DVD-WLM-Dec-3-2011.iso
here: http://libreoffice-na.us/
I didn't think it was finished...(maybe I saw it before the Dec 3rd release).
Anyway, I will add that item this weekend.
Question: Is it appropriate to make announcements of this type (since I am
merchandising) on this mailing list? I don't want to spam folks.
The DVD is upgraded as needed. Soon it will have a 3.4.5 version.
Sometimes I find things that need re-working on the DVD, but the last
thing added was the "kpp" set of English dictionaries/thesaurus [98,000+
to 638,000+ spelling words].
If you find any problems with the NA-DVD, let me know and I will fix it.
Each ISO will be dated, will state WLM - Windows/Linux/Mac or Win -
Windows only, and the LO version.
The DVD is the "property" of the NA-DVD team, but free for anyone to use
or reproduce. If you want to sell a printed version of the DVD, make
sure you use a label that states it is a NA-DVD - like
http://libreoffice-na.us/label_NADVD.png
I personally just burn/print the DVDs, place them in DVD thin-cases, add
the case label and inserted sheet[s], etc., then give them away. I do
not want to get into the process of having to take orders and ship them
out. I cannot in my current HUD-based handicapped housing [plus my
physical condition does not allow me to take the orders to the shipping
places on a regular basis].
Please, let me know how well it "sells".
As for merchandising, it is one part of marketing, so this should be OK
to let people know you are doing it.
