Asked and answered: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LPplatform-discuss/message/1927 M> The Clark campaign published four white papers on various campaign topics, such as social security, defense, etc. I no longer have copies and neither does Ed Clark. <M The Education white paper is at http://www.amatecon.com/etext/ecwp/ed/ecwp-ed-toc.html. Rothbard's hysterical but detailed over-reaction to them is at http://www.mises.org/journals/lf/1980/1980_09-12.pdf. Cato's Ed Crane describes and excerpts some of them in an excellent diagnosis of Rothbard's small-pond-ism at http://www.libertarian.co.uk/lapubs/tactn/tactn004.htm. Rothbard's 1980 critiques of Clark and Reagan foreshadow a monumental political tone-deafness that led Rothbard later to support a much-less-libertarian candidate (Pat Buchanan) for president in 1992. If anyone knows of a written attempt by Rothbard to justify his support of Buchanan in light of his vicious earlier attacks on Clark, I'd love to read it. Also, what has Ed Clark been up to since 1980?
