I would like to recommend Breaking The Demopublican Monopoly by Nelson Hultberg, available from www.afr.org. His main point is that what is needed is not a third party, but a true second one since the Republicans and Democrats have become simply opposite sides of the same coin. For all their rhetoric, they both believe more government is the solution to every problem. He also cites the need to abolish progressive taxation and start to return to a gold based money system. These measures need to be taken first if we are ever to get out of the 9 trillion dollar debt we are in now. He also cites the mistakes Libertarians and other parties make in their campaigns. Not a large book, but one of the best I have read in a long time.
