I was reading John McCain's assertion that Ron Paul would have "allowed" Hitler to happen, and that Us isolationism led to World War II. For an intelligent person he has a surprising ignorance of history. World War I led to the Treaty Of Versailles that created the conditions in Germany which led to Hitler's rise to power. It was European stupidity, not US isolationism. It didn't help that Woodrow Wilson was a hypocrite who got us into World War I after he promised not to send Americans to war. Once again we are supposed to "save" the world whether it wants to be saved or not. No matter who gets elected we keep making the same mistakes over and over.
