Due to the overwhelming response received from the announcement of Penn State's new Marine Bioacoustics course (ACS 597D), the University has made provisions for anyone to have access to the first week of lectures (Aug 27 and Aug 29) without officially registering for the course WITH payment. These two lectures should answer all questions about course logistics, content, assignments, and expectations. After these two lectures you would have to register and pay for the course. Payment details and instructions on how to gain access to the first week of class is appended below.
The Marine Bioacoustics course is accessed through the Penn State University ANGEL website. To receive access for the first class you will need to log into the ANGEL site with a temporary Friends of Penn State (FOP) account. Please go to the Friends of Penn State Digital ID registration page (https://fps.psu.edu/) and click on "create an account". Once you have obtained your FOP account please notify Kris Popovich ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) of your account number and she will provide access for the first class. If you would like to register for the course after sitting in the first class the registration form is available from the Acoustics website ( <http://www.acs.psu.edu/DistanceEd/deregistration.htm> http://www.acs.psu.edu/DistanceEd/deregistration.htm). Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or a check or money order made payable to the Pennsylvania State University will be accepted for payment of the Acoustics courses. A company authorization to invoice for tuition and/or fees will also be accepted. Payment must be received by September 5th (the end of the add/drop period) in order to avoid a $250.00 late registration fee. Jennifer L.
