Job Description: This position will be responsible for assisting the personnel 
and program requirements of the Aquatic Animal Health Program at the University 
Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine. This includes assisting the program 
directors, individual support for each faculty member's scholastic and student 
education needs, organizing and scheduling of meetings and correspondence, 
distance education courses, management of permits and scheduled reports, 
communication with outside partners and programs associated with AAH, web site 
maintenance, fundraising organization, seminar scheduling, and student 
assistance in courses and the certificate program.
Assist the program co-directors with organization and management of the AAH 
program requirements in meeting program goals and mission. Assist with 
organizing and scheduling meetings both internal and external. Provide Program 
first contact with students requiring assistance from program faculty or 
programs such as the AAH clerkship. Coordinate communication with outside 
vendors and partners. Coordinate and organize scheduled program quarterly 
reports and required state and federal permits. Program support may include 
overlap with duties of other members of the faculty and staff as necessary.
Provide support for individual faculty teaching and research coordination 
needs. Assist and help to organize veterinary student courses including 
distance education, correspondence, and mailing of samples.
Assist with course organization and implementation including SeaVet, other 
courses including distance education, and AAH certificate
Assist with fundraising initiatives
Assist with seminar series and the development of various newsletters and 
publications used for conferences, meetings and workshops, as well as flyers 
and other forms of advertisement for events. Assist with notification of events.
Maintenance of website

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and four years of appropriate 
experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may 
substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of 
specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
* Must be computer proficient and have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, 
Outlook, PowerPoint, Acrobat, Adobe suite and Access.
* Experience with website maintenance (Wordpress)
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; professional, pleasant and 
helpful
* Ability to collect and compile data, and create reports
* Knowledge of UF's travel policies and procedures, as well as other UF 
business practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to multitask and maintain productivity with limited supervision. This 
includes adhering to strict deadlines with regards to submission of reports and 
proposals while operating within the complex scheduling of the group.
* Knowledge and experience related to marine mammal and other aquatic animal 
permitting processes
* Experience with technical reports and funding proposals
* Assistance with administrative duties including shipping and receiving of 
packages, printing and copying, maintenance of office materials and materials 
for courses, seminars, and outreach events
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Assisting with maintenance of the aquatic animal health program websites, 
including uploading material as instructed by the supervisor. Expertise in 
graphic design, brochure development, video production, or development of 
web-based learning materials would be viewed favorably.
* Participation in development of grant proposals and extension teaching 
materials.
* Demonstrated experience with grantsmanship and a publication record are 
helpful.
* Assistance in the preparation of teaching materials, and the planning and 
conduction of classroom and laboratory instructional activities of the 
supervisor and other program personnel. Teaching activities will also include 
workshops that may be provided for continuing education of veterinarians and 
other stakeholder groups.
* Organizational skills that will facilitate development and management of 
records for technical reports, vehicle logs, and other program information
* Strong interpersonal skills are essential. The individual will need to 
organize and work with students at various levels of training (undergraduate, 
graduate and professional students), coordinate with residents and interns, and 
interact effectively with the public as well as other members of the aquatic 
animal health program team.
* Ability to use cornerstone software (as currently used within the UF 
Veterinary Medical Center) will be viewed favorably.

Monday- Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm.
Hours may vary at the discretion of the supervisor or job requirements. 
Extended hours and some travel may be required during annual veterinary courses 
and conferences.
