A private engineering firm is currently seeking to fill one to two post-doctoral positions for marine mammal surveying work off the coast of New York. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., and have published at least one peer-reviewed article within the last three years in marine mammal habitat use and distribution and/or marine mammal acoustics. Field expertise in photo-identification techniques, visual surveys and/or acoustic surveys is a plus, as are experience with spatial analysis in GIS software, report writing, and acoustic post-processing techniques.
If selected, the candidate must commit to the survey for its duration; a period of 3.5-4 years. Work begins January 1, 2016. Fieldwork will be conducted off the coast of New York, but candidates have the flexibility to conduct post-processing and report writing remotely from any location within the U.S. If interested, please respond to [email protected] with your CV and a copy of your latest peer-reviewed article.
