Hello, MARMAMers:

I want to call your attention to the publication of the US government's draft
List of Foreign
Fisheries<http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/ia/species/marine_mammals/mmpaloff.html>,
which is open for public comment through October 23, 2017.

The draft List of Foreign Fisheries is an important step in implementing the
import provisions of the U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act, which requires that
fish and fish products imported into the United States meet U.S. standards for
marine mammal protection applicable to commercial fisheries.

If you know of fisheries exporting to the United States that have particularly
problematic marine mammal bycatch issue or otherwise represent a significant
threat to marine mammal populations, please consider reviewing the draft List
of Foreign Fisheries and, as necessary, submitting comments here:

Thank you,
Zak
