Senior Environmental Reporting Scientist:
As a Senior Reporting Scientist, you will be responsible for the analysis, 
interpretation and presentation of marine environmental data in reports for our 
clients. You will work closely with the Client Report Managers, Project 
Managers and Field Scientists to ensure the production and delivery of quality, 
accurate reports, to agreed client specifications, often within tight 
timescales. You will need to communicate and collaborate with a broad range of 
stakeholders across the Gardline group of companies. You will also play an 
active involvement in the mentoring of Reporting Scientists, delivery of 
training to other staff in your discipline area, provision of leadership in 
complex projects and development of survey deliverables.

The successful candidate should be of degree calibre with three years of 
industry experience or less if in possession of a Master's degree or PhD in a 
relevant subject. The candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the 
marine environment with both a scientific and commercial awareness. The 
successful candidate will possess excellent organisational, presentation, 
communication and interpersonal skills. It is essential that they have good 
problem solving skills and the ability to communicate complex science at public 
and technical levels.

As part of supporting a transforming energy sector there is need for the 
candidate to possess specialist knowledge in one or more of the following 
disciplines and the willingness to learn aspect of the others to support the 
wider department:

  *   Marine wildlife
  *   Underwater noise mitigation
  *   Marine ecology
  *   Benthic communities and habitat classification
  *   Chemical processes
  *   Water quality
  *   Environmental legislation
  *   Regulatory advice
Previous experience of conducting marine mammal mitigation, bird surveys, 
marine environmental surveys, marine acoustic surveys, environmental impact 
assessment, taxonomy, or environmental research would be desirable. In 
addition, prior demonstrable experience of working to JNCC guidelines or other 
north Atlantic regulatory standards is beneficial.

The ideal candidate must be confident using Microsoft Office applications, 
particularly Excel and Word. It would also be beneficial if you have experience 
of using and understanding Adobe Acrobat, ArcGIS and statistical software 
packages. Experience in programming for automating data analyse would be 
advantageous.

We are offering this opportunity as a permanent position ideally based in the 
vicinity of Great Yarmouth, UK though opportunities for operation on a remote 
basis will be discussed. This full time 37.5 hours a week position will also 
involve some weekend working.
