Job Posting: Research Coordinator for Pacific Whale Foundation (Maui, USA)

The research department at Pacific Whale Foundation is recruiting for the newly 
created position of Research Coordinator, to report directly to our Research 
Manager, Dr. Shannon Barber-Meyer.



Pacific Whale Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit dedicated to protecting the 
ocean through science and advocacy and inspiring environmental stewardship. Our 
researchers have studied whales and dolphins throughout the Pacific for over 40 
years. The long-term goal of our research program is to identify and assess 
major threats to whales and dolphins around the world and develop science-based 
solutions to mitigate these problems.



Pacific Whale Foundation has an immediate opening for a Research Coordinator 
who is responsible for providing administrative support to the research program 
directors and managers to allow them to dedicate more of their time to 
research. This position is based in Hawai’i but provides support to a team of 6 
researchers (2 directors and 4 managers) working both domestically and 
internationally. Please note that this role does not involve conducting 
research.

The successful Research Coordinator candidate works at the direction of the 
Research Manager and will coordinate many responsibilities at one time, ranging 
from lab schedules and calendars, gathering information from teams, creating 
public-facing content, creating and organizing staff trainings, coordinating 
volunteers for various projects and will bring excellent organizational and 
project planning skills.  Communications skills and a strong commitment to the 
mission, goals and values of Pacific Whale Foundation will set you apart.
This is a regular, full-time, hourly, non-exempt, position based in Hawai’i out 
of the Ma’alaea Harbor, on Maui.
Pay starting from $50,000 per year, based on skills and experience. Applicants
