Maui Hawaiian Monk Seal Response Intern



Location of Internship: Maui Island

Reports to: Response Dispatcher - Maui

Position Classification / Expected Time commitment and work schedule:

  *   This is a six-moth internship (April 2024 to September 2024).
  *   8 – 12 hours per week, with additional training hours required at the 
start of the internship.
  *   Travel around Maui Island is expected.

Stipend: $500/month



Internship Summary:

The Hawaiian Monk Seal Response Intern supports The Marine Mammal Center’s Maui 
operations by answering calls from the public, educating, and engaging the 
public in conversations about Hawaiian monk seals, conservation work, and the 
Center, help identify and assess the health of the monk seal, direct beach foot 
traffic, and dispatching the Center’s volunteers to the seal.
