Hello everyone, The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking a Fisheries and Wildlife Biological Scientist III to join the Imperiled Species Management Section's Commenting Team. This position assists with developing conservation measures to reduce potential adverse impacts to species with a focus on Florida manatee and marine turtle conservation through the review of permit applications. Main job duties include reviewing permit applications and developing biological opinions to minimize or avoid impacts to protected species on regulatory permits such as environmental resource permits (ERP) and coastal construction control line permits (CCCL), implementing county manatee protection plans (MPPs) and conducting MPP consistency determinations, and providing technical assistance to various stakeholders including the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), and local counties/cities.
