Dear MARMAM community, I am reaching out to you on behalf of my colleagues from the Life CIBBRiNA<https://cibbrina.eu/> consortium, a 6-year EU-funded project that focuses on developing and implementing best practices in reducing bycatch across the North Atlantic, Baltic and Mediterranean regions. A special focus is given to Endangered, Threatened and Protected (ETP) species and relevant fisheries in these areas whilst working collaboratively with fishers, authorities, scientists and other relevant stakeholders to co-create sustainable solutions for the bycatch issue.
Within CIBBRiNA, my colleagues and I are working towards an online mitigation toolkit which will be based on a comprehensive database collating information on all bycatch mitigation attempts and approaches across global fisheries in order to inform all relevant stakeholders. The questionnaire is divided into 8 distinct challenges characterized by specific fishery and ETP species of interest.
