Dear MARMAM community, We woud like to share with you our latest work titles "Pathology and Cause of Death in Stranded Kogiids: A Retrospective Study from the Canary Islands (1999–2018)".
We present a multidisciplinary investigation derived from long-term surveillance of stranded Kogia breviceps (pygmy sperm whale) and K. sima (dwarf sperm whale) in the Canary Islands from 1999 to 2018. This study characterizes the principal pathological findings affecting these species and identifies the main causes of death within the Canarian archipelago, contributing valuable data to the assessment of health status and conservation threats for these species.
