The Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Program (VAQS), located in Virginia Beach, VA, is the sole program responsible for the response to marine mammals and sea turtles in the state. VAQS is currently hiring a part-time Assistant Stranding Position to maintain daily operations and program continuity. This is a contracted, entry level position and the selected candidate will assist with a range of tasks associated with the marine mammal/sea turtle rehabilitation, response, and necropsy facets of the Stranding Response Program. Qualified candidates should have a combination of experience and education equivalent to one year in marine biology, wildlife biology, zoology, stranding response, and/or animal conservation as well as animal handling, customer service, and record keeping experience and work well both individually and as part of a group.
