Dear MARMAM Community,

Ocean Science Analytics (OSA) is pleased to share the release of our
DeepAcoustics User Guide & Tutorial, along with a collection of free,
open-access tools we've developed to support passive acoustic monitoring
(PAM) research and analysis.

*DeepAcoustics – New User Guide & Tutorial*

DeepAcoustics is our GUI-based deep-learning tool designed to make
training, testing, and deploying acoustic detectors more accessible,
without requiring users to write code. The software is currently
MATLAB-based, although we are exploring a future conversion to Python.

Our new User Guide & Tutorial walks users through the DeepAcoustics
workflow, from getting started with the software to applying deep learning
to acoustic datasets. We hope it will be useful to researchers interested
in developing custom detectors for marine mammal vocalizations and other
underwater sounds.

*Additional Free Bioacoustic Tools*

We've also developed several other tools to make different aspects of
working with acoustic data a little easier:

   -

*EZ-AudioMate:* Batch-resample recordings and convert between WAV and
   FLAC formats.
   -

*SpectraReel:* Generate scrolling spectrogram videos from audio
recordings for visualization, teaching, and science communication.
   -

*Size EstimatR:* Estimate data storage requirements and compare
   continuous versus duty-cycled recording schedules.
   -

*WhistleGen:* Generate, visualize, and export synthetic dolphin whistles
   for research and teaching.
   -

*Scikit-MAAD GUI:* Batch process acoustic indices and soundscape metrics
using the existing scikit-maad library through a point-and-click interface.

These tools are free to download or use online, depending on the
application. You can explore the collection, along with other useful
passive acoustic resources, here:

*Passive Acoustic Monitoring Support*

Beyond developing tools, OSA provides technical support and consulting
services for passive acoustic monitoring projects, including large acoustic
dataset processing, detection and classification, deep-learning network
development and evaluation, analyst review, data analysis, visualization,
and development of custom data products.

Whether you're looking for help developing or refining a detector,
processing a large acoustic dataset, or turning acoustic observations into
useful data products, we're always happy to discuss how we might support
your monitoring and research goals.
