Hello MARMAM members

A reminder - Practical model-building methods can broaden analytical options
for complex biological datasets. Machine Learning for Computational Biology is
a seminar livestreaming October 29 with Nikolay Oskolkov (Lund University).
Neural networks, random forests, k-means clustering, Gaussian Mixture Models,
and MCMC are implemented in R and Python alongside model troubleshooting and
ethical considerations. Practical coding covers gradient descent, neural
networks, and random forests from scratch, with applications to biomedical,
genetic, ecological, and genomic data. Marine mammal researchers can apply
these computational approaches to biological, ecological, and genomic datasets
in their own work.
